Do Not Disturb
"Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others." - Philippians 2:4
When it comes to serving our fellow man, most of us tend to live with a mindset that posts a "Do Not Disturb" sign over our heart. We think: "I'm too busy." "Leave me alone." "I don't want to get involved." "I've got my own agenda."
Our culture is overrun with the attitude, "It's all about me." But as Rick Warren writes in his best seller, The Purpose Driven Life, "A meaningful life begins when we realize it's not all about us. It's all about God." When we get to know our Creator through Jesus Christ, and begin to worship God and serve Him, we realize the way we serve God is to serve our fellow man - especially those in need.
"It's all about me" is incredibly selfish, and it leads to emptiness and spiritual death. Real living begins when we start to know God, and serve Him. Serving God means serving others. It's one of the keys to discovering your life purpose.

From Judy on Mar 11th:
I love the photo that you have for this month. It reminds that that just like the crocus renews itself every spring God renews us also.
From Grant on Mar 11th:
All sin is self-centered. Further, it is our nature. Under the law, or "in the flesh" we cannot overcome sin. Only "in the Spirit" and "in Christ" can we really put the interests of others before ourselves.
From Ann Collings on Mar 11th:
One of the gifts God has given me is servanthood. I used to get much joy in serving and helping others. I have had 18 months of extreme family and career related problems and find that no one is here to serve me in my need. I have had comments like "get over it" , "I don't want to hear about your problems", There's plenty of people worse off" etc. That is why I am going to the doctor for help. I feel I need a psychologist to help as I have come to a realisation that people are so good at taking but not at all good at giving and feel that I may as well be dead.
I have sat with many people who have lost loved ones or had severe illnesses but none of those are here for me now.
From Gunk on Mar 14th:
Ann:
I kept my Son(Grant)through Four Years of no Income(No Income) and very Little Support.(No Support).
He scored an Overall 93 for those Years and the Highest Grade on the Rising Ninth ever recorded in his Middle School.
----------------
Now he is back with His Mom and I am paying Support--with no Income.
Between the Two of Them?
I did Nothing.
I should be glad they Allowed me to Contribute to Their Needs.

There are only 2 Kinds of People on this Planet Ann:
Care Givers and Care Takers...

I remember Paul in one of His Letters saying something like this...
They have all Forsaken Me...
I remember Jesus saying something like this...
Father! Why have you Forsaken Me?
------------
Yes. It Happens.

You and I Dear--We may have Missed the First Part:
"You should look not only to your Own Interests".

Sometimes we get Absolutely Lost looking out for the Needs of Others...
We become Bagholders...
