The Ultimate Matchmaker Oct 24 2007
"...for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him." - Matthew 6:8
There are a lot of matchmakers--relatives, friends, and dating services. TV executives got into the act not long ago with their infamous debacle, Who Wants To Marry A Millionaire? What a joke! While there have always been matchmakers, finding the right mate is a big decision. What would you want in a matchmaker?
* Someone who knows you and your interests
* Someone who knows the one you're to marry and their interests
* Someone who wants the best for you both--not second best.
Good news! There's an ideal matchmaker for everyone. His name is God.
He created you. He knows you and your future mate the best, but you have to know Him and seek His best for your life.
If you're single, wouldn't you like to have the perfect matchmaker lead you to the ideal match? Or do you think you know yourself and others better than God does? I think not. Let God be your matchmaker and you won't be disappointed.

Yes, report it NevermindI think this may speak better to some of those parents out there who have single children. Trust that God has a plan for what's best...

Yes, report it NevermindI am dating someone now-but I am not sure if he is the man that God wants me to be with. How do I know if God chose this man for me?

Yes, report it NevermindGod is the Master matchmaker and wedding planner.Psalm 37:4 say "Delight yourself also in the Lord, and he will grant you the desires of your heart.". I didnt know this 31 years ago as an ignorant single person. But only after being married to the same wonderful mate, and then looking back at so many separations and divorces in society today, I realize beyond any doubt that this is the man that God has purposed for me. We are now strong leaders of our churches and community. I was single once but i allowed the Lord to lead me. I followed. So just allow the Lord to lead. There is no disappointment in this. God knows best.

Yes, report it NevermindThis came along at the perfect time as I have been praying that God would send the perfect match I needed to do the work of His Kingdom. Being the victim of divorce after 20 years of marriage, I lose the faith that He hears my plea, but will continue to hold on until HIS time, not mine

Yes, report it NevermindThank you & thank you Ann Wright.
You all have blessed me!
I lost my wife of 51 years in an auto accident 2 years ago & want another. I had just learned how to court her & want to do it again to someone of God's choice if He pleases. Carl

Yes, report it NevermindI have always had a lot of trouble with this one, especially recently. I've tricked myself into thinking I'm infatutated with someone I don't even like! Anyone have any scripture verses for this situation or today's devotion?

Yes, report it NevermindSomething I heard on Christian radio and I can not remember who coined the expression to give them credit but they talked about God's "gift of singleness". I passed the thought along to a single friend because I had never quite thought of it like that. The verse that comes to mind is James 1:17 about every good gift coming from God. He may be giving the "gift of singleness" or He may be giving the gift of preparing a mate for you in His timing. Psalm 27:13-14 is about waiting for the Lord which I think applies in either case.
