Is Heaven All We Hope For?

"The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands." - Psalms 19:1

Is heaven all we hope for? Dr. R. G. Lee, a famous preacher of the past, was on his deathbed in a coma when suddenly his eyes opened exclaiming to his daughter, "I see heaven." She said, "Tell me about it." To which Rev. Lee replied, "Oh my sermons never did it justice. I see your mother. I see Jesus. It's so beautiful." One of this century's greatest preachers couldn't do it justice. Human language is simply inadequate to describe it.

I remember standing at the edge of the Grand Canyon and, for a moment, I stood in awe of the grandeur of the sight. I walk on a quiet beach and I'm in awe of God's creation. But as magnificent as these are, these are nothing compared to heaven.

Imagine being in the presence of the King of the Universe and all who follow Him. What a sight that will be! It will be greater than we can hope or imagine. So don't miss out. The ticket for getting there is knowing Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord.

What really is heaven? Nobody knows! Could it be it simply means that heaven is when you are in the present and find your connection with God. Or...is it another dimension where our souls go when our body dies?
I consider that we are always in the presence of the King of the Universe, as God is everywhere. - Frits

I concur, heaven must be an indescribable place, it's where our God reigns. I will be satisfied just to be in His presence. I understand being in God's presence always, howbeit; the writer of the article is simply implying, to look upon the face of He who came, suffered, bled, and died for us. Oh that will be glory, be glory for me. I am reminded of a song: Oh, I want to see Him, look upon His face, there to sing forever of His saving grace, on the streets of glory let me lift my voice, cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice. Lastly, any place that Jesus is, it's heaven.
Peace, and blessings. - Brother Carlito

Sometimes I wonder how can heaven be better than the beauty of earth? But then I remind myself who created the earth and how heaven must be so much greater than what we experience now. It's quite exciting. - Melanie

If I hadn't had "the hope for heaven" throughout my life, I'm not sure where I might be. The hope of heaven is all I ever had and still all I have. - Christine

The Bible is plain that this earth doesn't even compare with the glory of Heaven. To believe that one is in a state of Heaven while being in this fleshly form, would be to believe what many new age teachers of this day try to make us believe. - Jennifer

I have not traveled to many places in my lifetime but heaven is one place I definitely want to go. Jesus says He has prepared a place for me (John 14) so that is why I believe it is an actual place. Daily I have moments when I am acutely aware of God's presence with me but even though I know He is always there I am not aware of it each moment as I will most certainly be aware in heaven. I hope to feel God's presence more and more in my present life so heaven is not all I hope for but it is the final hope. Heaven is another of those wonderful mysteries God gives us to ponder. - Janice

Heaven is a prepared place for prepared people. Remember the scripture don't lie. Jesus gives us hope of a heavenly home. He say, "let not your hearts be troubled" or concerned. Trust God and trust Him. he said "In my Fathers house are many rooms; if it were different He would have told us. Jesus say He has gone there to prepare a place for us, and if He go to prepare a place for us He will come back and take us to be with Him that where He is we also will be there". That sounds like heaven to me. He said we know the way to the place where he has gone. Another scripture say he is the WAY the truth and the Life. So There is hope in King Jesus. So because he is now seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us, folks, there is hope for Heaven. Rocky - Rocky

P T Barnum is alleged to have kept the crowds of gawkers moving through his freak shows by placing signs that read "THIS WAY TO THE EGRESS" along the route. People would hustle pass the various oddities thinking they were going to encounter something wonderful at the end. After going past the last sign they found themselves not in front of some fantastic human oddity, but rather standing outside the exit to the tent. Sound familiar?........For you Southern Baptists- egress means "exit". - Erik
