Woe To You Church Hypocrites Oct 01 2007

"In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." - Matthew 5:16

George Barna, in an article entitled U.S. Christians' Influence Invisible, states: "Christians don't impact America because their lives don't reflect their beliefs...and they aren't sufficiently different from the people around them to make a difference in the lives of non-believers."

For more than a decade, studies have consistently shown that Christianity seems to be losing its influence in people's lives. Rather than shaping the way a person lives, it seems to have little effect at all. Ironically, this occurs at the same time Americans are much more interested in spiritual things.

Hey Christians, wake up! Don't you realize that the more our character and spirit reflect Jesus, the more people see Him and are drawn to Him?

Is your life more a reflection of the culture around you, the spirit and character of Jesus Christ? What would your neighbors say? Your co-workers? Your family? It's something to think about.

Yes, report it Nevermind

That is truly something to think about. Recently a friend wrote me a thank you note. In it she stated that the love of Christ shown through in me. I thought, that is the best compliment that anyone has or will ever give me. There is nothing better I could ever accomplish. It has inspired me to make sure that others see the light of Christ in my daily life. Sometimes I want to just live my life with Christ on a shelf. I need to always focus on Him and have others discover what's special about my life.

Before reading this devotion I had just been praying that there would be harmony between my inner being and my outward appearance. This devotion so much goes along with my prayer. Melanie is right that the love of Christ should be shown through each of us daily.
1 Corinthians 13 is good to review on how we are nothing if we do not show or demonstrate love to our neighbors.

My constant prayer, is that the beauty of Jesus be reflected in my life. His passion, and purity. Moreover; that His Spirit divine would all my selfish, and evil nature refine, until His beauty is seen in me. I furthermore pray for all my brothers, and sisters in the Lord, that Spirit would make us more like Him, that not us, but; Christ be loved, be seen, be heard, and be known. Amazed by His grace.
