How God Measures A Man Jun 01 2010

"...for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." NAS - 1 Samuel 16:7b

How do you measure the worth of another person? Is it by their wealth, their position, their fame, their looks, their education, or their success?

I don't know how you would answer that question, but I can tell you how God measures the worth of a person. God's Word says, "God does not see man as man sees him. For man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."

The heart speaks of a person's character, courage and spirit. So often when we measure the worth of a person we just look at the outward appearance, but God looks at the inside.

If that's the case, how does He measure you? If you had a heart exam today, what kind of heart would God find? The good news is this: God has given us a way to have a new heart and it's found through faith in Jesus Christ.

It's an interesting insight into life that when we begin to have the right heart through Christ, we begin to measure the worth of others God's way.

Yes, from our contemperary world, its so obvious man looks at the outward appearance. we in this society measure people by their wealth their position and so on. that is why there is so much clamour for wealth and all that Godessly. but then we thank God that we can have the right heart and approach to life through Jesus.

Princess Dianna and Mother Theressa both died the same week. I remember so vividly what the world took note of and fixed its attention on. It was so instructive.

When God looks at you, does he see a little bit of Jesus growing in your heart? Or, does he see the world?

Jesus was born in a barn & never owned a house! Think about that. Today that is a homeless person. And...he was accused of hanging out with wine o's. He did not come to accuse or condemn, but to save! When I think of all the hurting people, poor, homeless, alcholics, drug addicts, shut ins, divorcee's, people in general whom no one wants to be bothered with. Those are the ones Jesus would be hanging out with & helping. It is so sad & I'm sure it's breaking his heart to see them alone & judged so unfairly. I just want to say, next time you see a hurting or homeless person, if you want to be like Jesus, say to them "
I have a message for you from a good friend of yours, he is broken hearted to see you in this condition. He Loves you so very much. His name is Jesus & you can ask him for anything & he will do it for you." One homeless man I said this to, I'll never forget his reply. I told him, I too was one step away from being homeless myself & that I wished I could give him what he needed. His reply was " You already have."
