A Request From The White HouseFeb 08 2010
"God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful." - 1 Corinthians 1:9
God pleads with us to regularly spend time with Him, talking about our issues and seeking His guidance. Yet, even though we are offered this remarkable privilege, we are reluctant to make that commitment or to carve out any meaningful time with Him. We treat this offer with complete nonchalance. Does that even make sense?
Think about it this way. Suppose there is a voicemail on your phone when you get home from work today. It's a call from the White House operator, who says, "The President would like to spend some one-on-one time with you this week. Just about 30 minutes to get to know you a little better and to see what the President can do for you." Your first thought would be, "This must be a joke. Who is messing with me?" But what if you found out the call was real, and the President really did want to spend time with you? My guess is you'd be excited and feel pretty special!
But did you know that any President of the United States is small in importance and power when compared to God? Think about how quickly you'd jump to go spend time with the President. Then think about the awesome privilege that the God of the universe continually gives us to spend one on one time with Him. No greater privilege indeed.

Poor choice.
I wouldn't walk accross the street to spend time with this president (unless I thought I could change his mind - and I don't think that's your point here). - Grant
Thanks for allowing me to share my opinion - I'm sorry I always place God first in everything I do, why would I drop everything to speak to the President? I approach God first before I take the next step. - Lizbeth
Bryant, Thank you!!! Amen!!!! - Carol
Being given the opportunity to speak to the Creator of all things - no greater privilege exists. I certainly need to do it more often. - AUstin
Great message, bad timing on meeting this imposter for a president. Wouldn't give him the time of day.
I'm thankful that God is still in control. - Alan
I think Obama is a great president. Amen. - JCO
I love talking to God at many different times of the day, it makes my day worth while. And I would love to talk with the man who is sitting in the White House, if for no other reason, to introduce him to Jesus Christ. I am not judging him but he has on different occasions mentioned his muslim faith. You cannot have muslim faith and be a Christian. He also sat under a man who called himself a minister but used profanity in the pulpit, I even worry about that influence. And people wonder what drives him? Look at his past. - Jerry
Thank for the reminder, I miised my quiet time with God this morning.
I also want to take a moment to thank all those who take time to post here. I appreciate your insight, support and love for one another. - jfp
