Scrooge or Christian This Christmas? Dec 19 2008
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." - Galatians 5:22-23
Scrooge is making a comeback this Christmas, reappearing in many hearts. So, are you more like Scrooge or like a Christian? Let's do some comparison illustrations:
1. Scrooge is stingy as Hell. Christian is generous as Heaven who gave us God's Son.
2. Scrooge hoards all he can. Christian gives all he can.
3. Scrooge fears he'll lose it all. Christian trusts in the Lord for all.
4. Scrooge is haughty to the poor. Christian loves the poor and helps those in need.
5. Scrooge worships at the Church of Dow Jones, while sometimes claiming belief in God. Christian worships the Lord while professing to be a sinner saved by grace.
6. Scrooge resents joy in bad economic times. Christian feels joy for the Good News of Jesus' birth.
7. Scrooge feels entitled to all he's earned. Christian feels thankful for what he has.
8. Scrooge says "Bah Humbug" to Christmas. Christian says "Merry Christmas" because Jesus the Savior is born.
Are you like Scrooge or Christian? What would God say? It's time for the true Christian to make a comeback this Christmas.

Yes, report it NevermindIn the spirit of giving, check out the tradition of giving a "white envelope" for Christmas. The story is moving and inspiring...

Yes, report it NevermindWhile we definitely appreciate other ministry opportunities, RFTH is also dependent upon financial contributions to keep doing things such as sending out these devotions each day. Please consider giving to this vital ministry. And you can do it online by clicking on this link! http://rightfromtheheart.org/donate. Blessings to you all during this Christmas season!

Yes, report it NevermindIt occurred to me that generosity is as habitual as stinginess. If you're in the habit of being stingy and mean spirited, the season of Christmas may or may not thaw your heart. To be sure that Christmas is the culmination of our generosity - the celebration of God's generosity - we must make the habit of generosity as deliberate as our daily study of the Word. If we accomplish this, generosity will be second nature.
It also occurred to me that I have benefited from this service in my daily bible study and while supporting other ministries, never supported this one. That ends today.
Blessings and Thank you!
